QCAT decision and orders are final and binding on all parties to the proceedings. Some provisions of the Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal Act 2009 may permit an appeal from a decision or order.

If a different outcome or order is sought, you must appeal, bring an application for leave to appeal or use other legal avenues available under the QCAT Act.

 

Appealing a QCAT Decision

In certain circumstances parties can appeal a QCAT decision. When appealing a QCAT decision the appeal process differs depending on whether the decision was. See below for a list of different types of decicions and the link to understand the appeal process.  

If QCAT’s Principal Registrar refuses, or places conditions on an application, the decision can be reviewed by a member of the tribunal.  The decision of the tribunal is final and cannot be appealed further.
