Complaints & Help - Visual Impairment



If you feel that you have been subject to discrimination because of your communication difficulties, you may wish to lodge a complaint with the Anti-Discrimination Commission Queensland (ADCQ).You may choose another person to make the complaint for you if you cannot, or do not want to, do so yourself.

Complaints must include:

  • Your name, address and telephone number
  • The name and contact details of the person you are complaining about
  • What happened, when it happened and who was involved
  • Why you think the person has treated you unfavourably

Queensland Braille Writing Association (Braille House) is a voluntary association of people specializing in tactual literacy. Braille House provides the following services:

  • Library – a free lending library of braille and moon books
  • Transcribers – produce books and other resources in braille for children and adults, students of all ages, organisations and government departments
  • Tutoring  - for adults who wish to become touch readers of braille or moon script
